Getting Started

Before your first scheduled exit, allow IGTT notifications. On iPhone, check IGTT in Settings if you previously declined them. On Android, also allow Alarms & reminders; the paths are in Android Settings below.

  1. Open IGTT and choose Schedule Exit.
  2. Choose or enter the caller identity.
  3. Select the caller voice and reason for calling.
  4. Choose Immediate Exit or Escalating Urgency.
  5. Select when the exit should begin.
  6. Tap Schedule Exit.

Android Settings

Both settings below must be on for a scheduled exit to appear as an incoming call:

  • Alarms & reminders: Open Settings > Apps > Special app access > Alarms & reminders > I Gotta Take This and allow the app to set alarms and reminders. This lets a scheduled exit fire at the chosen time.
  • Notifications: Open Settings > Notifications > App notifications > I Gotta Take This and turn on notifications. If the phone rings but no Answer screen appears, check this setting.

If your device offers a full-screen notification setting for IGTT, allow it so the call screen can appear.

Exit Not Arriving

  • Confirm the scheduled exit appears on the IGTT home screen and its time has not passed.
  • On Android, if no call arrives, check Alarms & reminders. If it rings without an Answer screen, check Notifications.
  • After changing a permission, cancel the earlier exit and schedule a new one.
  • Restart the app and try again.

Ringtone & Sound

  • Check the device volume.
  • Confirm sound is not being routed to Bluetooth headphones, speakers, a vehicle, or another connected device.
  • Disconnect external audio devices and try again.

Caller Voice

IGTT uses text-to-speech technology for caller audio. If the caller voice does not play, check your internet connection, then retry the voice preview or schedule a new exit.

Important Safety Information

IGTT is not an emergency service. It does not place a real telephone call or contact another person on your behalf.

IGTT is a personal safety and convenience tool that creates simulated call experiences. It should not be relied upon as a substitute for contacting emergency services, law enforcement, medical professionals, trusted contacts, or other real-world assistance.

If you are in immediate danger or experiencing an emergency, contact the appropriate emergency service for your location.
